Tomorrow…
We are doing something I never thought I would do. Tomorrow, little M begins pre-school.
I am a firm believer in school, and I always knew that, since we got little M when she was older, my girl would be home for a very short time before she was off to kindergarten. I thought I would keep my girl home, and get her ready for kindergarten myself. I thought I would keep my girl close, to spend as much time as possible with her before she needed to be in school.
I also thought that, after being home a year, my little girl’s speech and development would have caught up. However, due to little M’s hearing issues, she is still so far behind in many areas. Her therapists have talked for many months about putting little M in preschool. The hope is that preschool will help little M catch up in her speech, and the other areas she is behind, more quickly than her staying home can provide.
I want what is best for little M, and I want her to be able to communicate her thoughts and feelings so badly. If there is any chance that this will help her to catch up, I will happily pursue it. I think little M is going to love every bit of preschool, and I am so hopeful that this will be just the boost needed for her to pick up the developmental pieces she is missing.
I want whatever will help my daughter, and I am excited to begin this next chapter in our little M’s life. So tomorrow…we will have a little schoolgirl!
Hurray for school! I hope she has a fabulous day (and you too!).
I can't wait to hear all about her preschool adventures! Josie THRIVES with her peers and we were amazed at how quickly she starting reaching additional milestones.
so sweet! hope she had a great first day!
