Making The Leaves Last…
Since little M has such a deep love for leaves, we have been “gathering” them a lot lately. Buckets of leaves have been coming home, and making their way into our house.
The other day, the leaves we gathered were beautiful, not dried out, and were the perfect colors of Fall. I wanted to make them last, so I hit up Pinterest…obvi! One blogger said she coated her leaves with sealer. I was out of sealer, but I have bottles of the mod podge!
So I put a coat on each side of the leaves…
I only had mod podge for paper, but it did the job. Mod podge always does the job, doesn’t it?
I like that they came out a little bit shiny. They also curled up a little bit, but they are not brittle at all, so I was able to flatten some of them back out. The others I left curled, because they were rocking that look, too.
We had a TON of leaves…I put most of them in this giant vase, but we could use them for garland, table decoration, even place cards. The possibilities are endless!
Brilliant! They would be perfect to keep out all the way through Thanksgiving!
LOVE IT!!!
Argh! I wish I wouldn't have been so crashed with work that I could have read this post sooner. I have been working on fall foliage bookmarks for TWO weeks now. One word – disaster. I am not good at Pinterest, Facebook, etc . . . Thank goodness I have you for crafting tips in the future. I may post my disappointing craft experience when I have more time.
