Family day…
Sixteen years ago we became a family, when we met a little Mackenzie in China. Seems like yesterday, and seems like we’ve loved her forever.

For the last 11 years, the first weekend in Octobe

For the last 11 years, the first weekend in October has meant our Halloween movie night and takeout. When our oldest realized she’d be away at college this year and would miss it, we were both sad.

So we did what we had to do…we moved the tradition. 🧡

Halloween in August? Of course! Because the date was never really the important part. It’s the memories, and the tradition we always do together.

Some traditions are worth bending the calendar for. So we did. 🎃🖤

The countdown is on… just two more weeks until the oldest baby heads off to college. We are so excited to watch Mackenzie step into this next chapter, but this house is going to feel different and the younger siblings are already sad and anxious to see her go.

The next couple weeks feel especially precious and we’re soaking up the moments before the big changes. ♥️♥️
