Again…

Last week tiny P had a hard week. She was struggling with fluid gain, and on Tuesday she stopped going potty after her diuretic, where she usually goes a LOT. She stopped eating, all she wanted to do was sleep, and by Thursday she was huge with built up fluid. She gained almost five extra pounds of fluid in four days…that’s a lot on a little person! We had been in contact with her cardiologist all week, and by Thursday we knew we would be headed to the hospital. It was late in the afternoon, so we decided to give her a good night’s sleep in her own bed. We packed our hospital bag, and went in Friday morning. She was immediately admitted…you know you are staying when you check in, and they immediately call to see if there’s a bed available in the heart unit!

Tiny P had low albumin, and was losing proteins, and was so puffy…

She has heart failure. Her heart is overtaxed, and it is causing problems with her liver, and her body is  just plain worn down. She had three infusions of albumin, but the fluid still wasn’t coming off, and we have tried so many new drugs with her. Finally today they found a drug concoction that is working for her. She is starting to put fluid off, and I am starting to see my sweet girl come back a bit.

She is still so miserable, and she just wants to go home. We are still hoping she will be home for Christmas, but of course we will do whatever is best for tiny P. The plan right now is to get her little body stable enough to where she can have surgery successfully, while trying to keep our girl as comfortable as we can.

We will see what the coming days bring, but will you pray for our tiny P? She has come so far, and she is a tough little girl, but her heart has just been working too hard for too long…
Please pray that she can come home for a couple weeks, even with home care, until she can have her surgery, and please pray that we will be able to make good choices for her, and our family!

    Poor wee thing. Lots of prayers and lots of hugs being sent your way for your entire family. Praying that Tiny P is home for Christmas where she can be doted on by two very special big little people!
