Butterflies…

We live in a great area, and I love being so close to the nation’s capital…there is certainly never a shortage of things to do! Little M has been to many of the museums in our capitol, but this weekend she  went to the national museum of natural history for the first time.

She was beyond excited to see the dinosaur bones, and tried to feed the husband to a T-rex, ha!

She enjoyed the marine life room…

And had a strange fascination with the insect zoo.

The husband held a hissing cockroach. Then I made him wash his hands, because gross.

But what we were really there for, what we went to see, was the live butterfly exhibit…
And it was more than worth it.

It’s like a greenhouse within the museum, and it was sweltering hot in there. But the butterflies were everywhere…

And the flowers smelled amazing…

Little M loved it. She watched them intently, and it was fun to see her enjoy this.

Last year at this time our girl would have been terrified of this, she has changed so much!

It’s so fun to see these new things through the eyes of our girl…her excitement is so contagious!

I love this girl! Our family has the best times together, and I am excited to see what this new year brings us!
