Kicks…
Not so much. To fit shoes over the afo, the shoes must have certain criteria…
The shoe that goes over the brace must not only be a size bigger (ironic, since that foot is actually a size smaller), but the shoes have to have laces.
We learned this when we brought our brand new velcro shoes in to fit the brace…the orthopedist had to grommet on some extra velcro, and cut the tongue of the shoe!
the shoes must also have the insole taken out, to make extra room. And then, after wrestling the shoes on, you can lace those babies up. These shoes? They’re from Nordstrom. Bless Nordstrom…they will sell you two different sized shoes as one pair. And that was after they tried to fit every pair of shoes they had on our boy. Which took forevah! But bless them for trying.
And bless this little shoe loving boy. Because baby J lurves him some shoes…
Bless him, his first pair of shoes! How is he doing with them?
Gorgeous…the boy and the shoes.
