Monday Musings…
Spring break is over, and little M is back to school this week. I am hoping and praying that this week she can get a handle on her behavior, and we can all go back to enjoying and looking forward to school.
Spring break is confusing for little M. Every morning she asks what day it is, and based on my answer she usually knows what she is going to do that day. On Monday she goes to school, on Thursday she goes to speech class, Saturday she goes to gymnastics, and so on. During spring break her whole schedule was messed up, and by Thursday, she was all thrown off. When I got her up that morning she said “it’s Thursday…today no speech class?” Poor thing, it will be nice to have her schedule back.
Last week I told little M I was going to do some cleaning. When I asked her if she was going to help me clean she said “Umm, maybe I can wipe.” She meant dusting, and she did “wipe.” It cracked me up for the rest of the day.
We’ve been having a little raccoon trouble, and we put out a live trap for it. We caught one on the first night, and let him go in the woods farther from our house. We put out the trap again to see if he had any little raccoon friends lurking about. The next morning I went to check our trap with little M, and it was empty. I went to go back inside, and little M grabbed my hand, and said “oh no, Mommy, we hava no kangaroo!” I was hoping for a kangaroo, too.
Yesterday afternoon little M disappeared into her room while the husband and I were busy, and when we went to check on her we found that she had put about twelve of her stuffed animals to bed, covered them up, and was sitting on her bed talking and singing to them. When we came into her room, she said “we haffa be quiet, everybody is SO tired.”
Today we are off to get a CAT scan on little M’s ear. Tomorrow she will have her pre-op for her next ear surgery. We are relieved that we are finally getting a scan, and hopeful that this will show what has been little M’s hearing problem. Hearing has been an issue for little M her whole life, and I am so hopeful that soon she will finally be able to hear correctly, and not have to struggle. The tubes she had put in before are completely out, and she is not hearing well if at all. It makes me so sad for her!
Spring break certainly threw off Josie's daily schedule too. Everyday she would ask when she could go back to her \”regular life\”. Fingers crossed that you have an easier week with school and behavior. Best wishes with the medical appts too.
I hope she gets back into her schedule easily. And I pray that the tests reveal something to help with her hearing.Adorable pictures!!!!
