Progress…
We are slowly seeing signs of better hearing.
Yesterday, I was reading a Kai-lan book to little M. She loves Kai-lan, but has always called her “Kai-gan.” When I was reading the book, and said “Kai-lan,” she looked at me, and asked, “Kai-LAN?” I said yes, and she said “Kai-gan, Kai-lan?”
She has been saying it correctly ever since.
Normally, if we need her to hear us, we need to be in her face, talking loudly, and she needs to be looking at our lips. Several times over the weekend, we gave her instructions, without her looking at us, and she was able to hear us, and carry out the instruction.
We have also noticed that when we have been driving, and talking in the front seat of the car, she has started to repeat some of the things we have said. We need to start watching what we are saying! We have a hearing child!
Woo hoo!! This is fabulous news.
Great progress! How exciting!!
