Waiting Patiently
We are in the “waiting place.” As the wise and wonderful Dr. Suess once said:
A most useless place
The waiting place…for people just waiting.Â
Waiting for a train to go,
or a bus to come,
or a plane to go,Â
or the mail to come,Â
or the rain to go, or the phone to ring(hmmmm, just what WE’RE waiting for),
or the snow to snow…
Everyone is just waiting…
NO! That’s not for you!
Somehow you’ll escape all that waiting and staying.Â
You’ll find the bright places where the boom bands are playing…
Dear old Dr. Suess doesn’t say how we will escape the “waiting and staying”, but I am definitely feeling the uselessness of the waiting place.
Psalm 40
I waited patiently for the Lord;Â He turned to me and heard my cry.Â
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord…
Many, oh Lord, my God, are the wonders you have done.
The things you planned for us no one can recount to you;
Were I to speak and tell you of them, they would be too many to declare.
I know God has a plan for us. I know he has something special in mind, but sometimes I wish I could just have a little peek at those plans. I want to know the lyrics to the “new song”! I am ready for us to be out of this little waiting place.
I hope your waiting for a referral ends very soon. This week would be nice, huh? That way you can join me in the next waiting place… waiting and wondering when you will bring your child home! Here's to a July referral!
JoannaIt seems that everyone is in the same place…just waiting on God to reveal his wonder. I love Psalm you chose.
Oh waiting, I hate it for you. And there really is nothing I could say to make it better because I can't peek at God's plans either.Your Target/Corner Bakery Buddy
