Week Three…

Has it really been three weeks?! Well. I don’t know why time is going so quickly, but I don’t like it.

We had school open house this week, and it was fun to see little M’s school environment. She was so proud to show us her desk, and her journal, and where she does her music, and art, and her computer lab, and library. Little M’s school is huge…but the class sizes are quite small compared to other schools in this area. And they run that place like a ship…everyone has a place, and they quickly, and quietly go there. Little M stressed to us several times that you have to be silent in the hallways. Ha.

Apparently week three is our turning point…With any life change, it seems to take little M three weeks, and then it’s all good.
She was like a new girl this week. I asked her one day when she woke up congested if she wanted to stay home, and she told me that there was no way she could stay home, because Tuesday is library day, and if she doesn’t go to the library, then she won’t get her book, so “staying home would be impossible, mommy.”

Her favorite classes change every week. She was thrilled to learn that she would have math class every day, but her favorite classes this week were reading and PE.

Some of the little boys in her class have a hard time, which makes me feel a little better about my little M. One day she told me that the boys in her class are always crying. “The girls never cry, but there are a BUNCH of crying boys. They cry every day.” Oh my.

In October little M starts getting homework, so we’ll see how that goes…
So far, so good!

She is so cute, so smart. Love all her very grown up comments.

Just going back through your blog and reflecting on Little M's reactions to changes as we are now in week 3 of school and hitting them big time with J. It's so heartbreaking. She told us she cried all morning on Monday and when I later asked her if there was anything she could take to school with her that might make things better, she answered \”kleenex\”. New things are so hard. Glad Little M is doing better!
